Sleepy As They Come: 528 Hemi Powered 1967 Dodge Coronet 440

$

0

This 1967 Coronet station wagon comes with refrigerator white paint, steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps and an equally utilitarian black vinyl interior. Appearances are deceiving however, because under the plain vanilla wrapper is an aluminum head 528ci Hemi. This may be the ultimate sleeper with room for you and your buddies. Find it here on For B Bodies Only Forum in what looks to be Michigan for $45,000 OBO.

1967 Coronet wagon. 528 hemi, ULTIMATE SLEEPER - B Body Mopars For Sale

Looking crisp and clean in fresh white paint, the car has been built to draw a minimum of attention to it. When building a sleeper, keeping everyone else in the dark about your car and what it may be capable of is paramount. However, the builder of this car chose to give onlookers one clue about this car’s intentions: a small 426 Hemi badge on the front fender. If you miss this, nothing else on the car will give it away-even the large tailpipes are tucked discreetly behind the rear wheels.

1967 Coronet wagon. 528 hemi, ULTIMATE SLEEPER - B Body Mopars For Sale

Moving towards the rear of the car everything seems to be in order with trim and factory badges. With electric cut-outs on the TIG welded and ceramic-coated exhaust closed, it would be hard to know you weren’t looking at another slant six or 318-powered car.

1967 Coronet wagon. 528 hemi, ULTIMATE SLEEPER - B Body Mopars For Sale

Under the hood is a 528ci, iron block Hemi with aluminum heads. The owner says that the engine was professionally assembled with a hydraulic cam and that it runs on pump gas. Power is funneled through a Ron Mancini-built 727 Torqueflite, on through a Dyna-Tech aluminum drive shaft and finally to a Moser Dana 60 with 3.54 gears. Slowing it all down falls to Wilwood discs in front and drum brakes in the rear, both squeezed by a non-power assisted master cylinder. Manual steering turns the front wheels and A/C will keep you cool while exerting with the controls.

1967 Coronet wagon. 528 hemi, ULTIMATE SLEEPER - B Body Mopars For Sale

Nice and tidy from every angle, the car goes about its business (the business of fast quarter mile blasts) with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of seemingly well-integrated speed parts. This is the perfect car to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the street Hemi–just don’t expect anyone else to know.

Attractive Cruiser: 1952 Buick Special Deluxe Riviera Two Door Hardtop

$

0

This 1952 Buick Special Deluxe Riviera wears an older restoration with a bit of recent sorting and mods including a mild drop and Pertronix ignition. Described as a driver, the car features a nicely detailed straight-eight and a rebuilt Dynaflow 2-speed automatic with some additional mechanical upgrades listed. Offered with a good amount of photos and a few extra pics, exterior cosmetics are excellent and though the interior is presentable, the car could use some attention inside. Find it here on Jalopy Journal in Houston, Texas for $15k or listed trades.

1952 Buick Special Deluxe Riviera 2 Door Hardtop Straight 8 Automatic | The H.A.M.B.

Aside from the aforementioned mild drop, the Buick has maintained a stock appearance and fortunately doesn’t wear any ill-judged custom items or pinstriping. Green two-tone is a nice fit for the car and paint looks better than driver-quality with no immediately apparent flaws, while chrome appears just as nice and the body is straight. Shown with fender skirts both fitted and removed, either is a good look and we’re loving these nice sized white walls and smooth chrome caps.

1952 Buick Special Deluxe Riviera 2 Door Hardtop Straight 8 Automatic | The H.A.M.B.

The two-tone theme carries over inside the car with paint on the dash and door tops looking just as good as outside, the wheel is also in good shape despite a of couple thin cracks. Though the vinyl inserts on the door cards, rear panels, and rear seat are all in fine shape, cloth bits appear stained or water damaged, and carpet in the trunk is similarly tired. The front seat doesn’t share this damage but the cover is loose and upholstery around the base should be redone. Carpet is decent but could use a simple vacuuming.

1952 Buick Special Deluxe Riviera 2 Door Hardtop Straight 8 Automatic | The H.A.M.B.

Along with the Pertronix ignition, the car’s straight-eight (likely a Fireball 263) also features new plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, coil, and more. Additionally, the seller has recently performed an oil change and sourced a period reproduction battery. Other mechanical work includes the rebuilt trans, new rear brakes and rebuilt rear shocks with aftermarket El Camino springs.

1952 Buick Special Deluxe Riviera 2 Door Hardtop Straight 8 Automatic | The H.A.M.B.

In its current condition the Buick is undoubtedly a great cruiser, but those wanting a more serious driver for more than trips to the Friday night cruise-in will want to swap an overdrive transmission and re-do the interior.

LHD 1961 Ford Thames 400E

This 1961 Ford Thames 400E is a rare LHD variant of Ford Britain’s light commercial van. We’ve never seen one of these on American shores, and with some love, this one could make an interesting alternative to a VW Type 2. Find it here on eBay in Hancock, Michigan with a $5,600 BIN. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.

Thames Ford 400E Van

While the body looks to have been exposed to the elements for many years, the seller claims that it is mostly solid. Rust in the front rocker panel is the only thing detailed which will need repair. There also looks to have been some past accident damage which will also need straightening.

Thames Ford 400E Van

The interior is a rough affair, though the more forgiving might say that it has “character.” New upholstery is almost certainly a must, and the dangling alligator clips under the dash look to be the seller’s solution to a missing keys dilemma.

Thames Ford 400E Van

Here’s the ID plate, which includes the chassis and engine numbers.

Thames Ford 400E Van

The seller states that the van was converted into a camper, leading us to believe that this was not its original configuration. Nonetheless, we approve, though we wouldn’t exactly try living in it as it currently sits.

Thames Ford 400E Van

While this van needs some of everything, we like its unique charm. It’s definitely the right size for a vintage camper, and just different enough to leave everyone scratching their heads.

$4k 1952 MG TD Project

$

0

This 1952 MG TD is a project that sounds to have recently been removed from storage of over 40 years. Though not running, the free-turning engine and trans are said to be original and also appear to be fully intact. Sold with a box of parts and the original black plate, the car has a bit of front-end damage but looks serviceable, the seller adding that windshield glass remains crack-free. Find it here on Craigslist in El Cajon, California for $4,250. Special thanks to BaT reader T.J. for this submission.

1952 Mg Td

Seats are missing as the seller says only photographed items are included, but wood floors do appear to remain in good shape. Cloth on door cards and side curtains are tattered, and unlike floors, the wood dash is chipped and splintered.

1952 Mg Td

Fortunately the 1.3 liter four cylinder is said to turn freely and the correct air cleaner is present, which is a plus.

1952 Mg Td

Included parts are shown in a box and while it’d be nice to know what extras are present, it doesn’t look like the grille is one of those items.

I highly recommend to anyone selling a special car online that this is the place to do so. The BaT community is educated, informed and above all extreme CAR PEOPLE.

This car was a good deal for EVERYONE involved , heck – even brought the prior owner out to share his experience with this very unique and exceptional car!

Too many more special rides!

All the best,

This 1979 Ford Capri (chassis CC10) is an ex Gordon Spice/CC Racing Developments car that is said to have been dominant in period Group 1 racing. Now restored to its original Group 1 spec and livery, the car sounds track-ready and is further believed to have served as the inspiration for a Corgi model. Find it here at Silverstone Auctions who will offer the car as lot 218 at Silverstone on July 23rd, 2015. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.

1979 Ford Capri Grp 1 - Ex Gordon Spice - Silverstone Auctions

Later raced in Group 2, the car’s authenticity has been verified by both legendary Capri racer Spice and race manufacturer CCRD. Restoration work shows that the car started life as a MkII, receiving updated bodywork likely at the request of Ford marketing.

1979 Ford Capri Grp 1 - Ex Gordon Spice - Silverstone Auctions

1979 saw the car clinch six overall wins in the Tricentrol British Saloon Car Championship, as well as what are referred to as “good outings” at Nivelles, the Le Mans 4 Hours, Spa 24 and a second place at The 24 Hours of Paul Ricard.

1979 Ford Capri Grp 1 - Ex Gordon Spice - Silverstone Auctions

This race-prepped 3.0 liter Cologne V6 is believed to be original to the car and has recently been refreshed and returned to period correct Group 1 specs.

Notably, sale includes several of the trophies Gordon Spice won while driving this very car.

Other extras include what’s called a large quantity of Group 2 parts, spare wheels, homologation papers, 1979/1980 season BSCC regulations, set-up sheets, period photos and even a spare engine.

Japanese Gangster: 28k Mile 1988 Nissan President in the USA

$
0
0

This 1988 Nissan President is said to be in excellent condition with only 28k miles from new. Similar to the Toyota Century, these OHV V8 powered cars were built to order and in limited numbers for successful business people, politicians and just as frequently for gangsters. Packed full of cutting edge 80’s luxury features, we think it’s a lot of car for the money despite potential supply chain issues explained further below. Find it here on Japanese Nostalgic Car (login required) in Hillsboro, Oregon for $6,900.

1988 Nissan President Front

This one appears to have been dropped slightly, and as long as it doesn’t affect the ride too much we approve. Fortunately, OEM snowflake wheels and center caps appear to be included as well. We’d replace these generic looking six spokes with the stock items ASAP.

1988 Nissan President Side

Low mileage is common on these types of cars, as they were typically used minimally as part of large fleets. This car’s exceptional condition isn’t unusual either, as most were maintained and kept clean in accordance with their role as prestigious back seat transportation for VIP’s.

1988 Nissan President Interior

Wool interior is often preferred by conservative Japanese clients who are said to find leather to flashy–wool is also quieter, with no tendency to squeak like hides. Again much like the Century, this car features a column shift, wood grain, a fold-down front passenger seat pass-through for the rear seat passenger’s legs, rear-mounted A/C controls, stereo interface and much more.

1988 Nissan President Engine

Here’s the four liter injected V8. A cam-in-block OHV design good for about 200 HP and 260 lb ft, you’d be forgiven for mistaking this view as depicting an 80’s GM luxury product. A friend has a similarly pristine ’84 Century whose recent, persistent and so-far untraceable misfire and extremely limited parts availability help illustrate the dedication required to keep something like this on the road. Japanese connections, an at least cursory understanding of the language and lots of patience should be considered prerequisites to ownership.

Sixteen Inches Ground Clearance: 1975 Volvo C303

$

0

This 1975 Volvo TGB11/C303 is said to be in very good running order, the seller adding that in 30 years of off-roading it’s most capable climber they’ve ever encountered. Power comes form the truck’s original three liter B30 straight six, and thanks in large part to portal axles, ground clearance is an impressive 16″ under the differentials. Find it here on Government Liquidation in Auburn, California with an unmet $25 starting bid and additional reserve.

1975 Volvo C303 - Government Liquidation

Here’s the front left portal axle. Goodyear MTR tires are said to remain in good condition and electrical power comes from two new yellow-top Optima batteries.

1975 Volvo C303 - Government Liquidation

Though mechanicals are robust and straightforward, the included full set of technical manuals is a nice bonus nonetheless.

1948 Dodge Power Wagon

$
0
0

This 1948 Dodge Power Wagon (chassis 83907484) is described as a driver and the stock flathead six is said to start easily. Wearing older, low-quality paint, the truck’s cosmetics are tired and the seller mentions some rust and cracked glass, too. The truck is being offered in a two-day auction and although information is slim, the ad includes a hefty 80 photos. Find it here on Government Liquidation with unmet reserve and bidding opening this Tuesday, 7/14. Special thanks to BaT reader TrenchFoot for this submission.

1948 Dodge Power Wagon 4 x 4 - Government Liquidation

Though the truck’s exterior looks decent from 20-or-so feet, the grille surround should be body color and closer shots of the paint reveal orange peel and other issues–the tailgate is also full of dents and the detail and Dodge script appear to have been an amateur paint job. Fenders and side-steps are scratched and dirty, while the bed has some corrosion with holes close to the cab.

1948 Dodge Power Wagon 4 x 4 - Government Liquidation

Despite the scruffy exterior, things look better inside the cab–painted surfaces still aren’t great (note the heavily scratched dash surface) but upholstery looks to be in great condition, both the seat and headliner appear to have seen minimal use or wear.

1948 Dodge Power Wagon 4 x 4 - Government Liquidation

We’ve seen better looking examples but if it’s as mechanically sound as the ad states, there’s no reason it couldn’t be used as intended for a while before receiving fresh paint and additional work.

Three for One: 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire Projects

$
0
0

These 1962 Oldsmobile Starfires are sold as a trio of projects, of which the white coupe and red convertible are both in running condition with new tires–the seller hasn’t attempted starting the third car. All three feature 394 V8’s with 4bbl carbs and console shift automatics, and all are sold with clean titles. The collection is said to be complete and extra parts are included. and though described as projects, the white coupe sounds close to being a driver. Find them here on Craigslist in Naples, Idaho for $12k. Special thanks to BaT reader Virginia T. for this submission.

62 olds starfire collection

Though all are afflicted, rust is claimed minimal across all three cars and despite the limited angles in pictures, the projects have no shortage of dents and faded paint. Wide whites aren’t ideal for the model but the running coupe features new tires and brakes while the convertible wears more appropriately sized white wall tires which are also new.

62 olds starfire collection

Here’s the white car’s fresh, partially redone interior. Other than some dirt on the floor and the yet-to-be-installed headliner, things look pretty good, especially seat upholstery, dash, and console. Check out the tach, which all three cars are said to feature.

62 olds starfire collection

Considering the cars’ condition and what’s included in the sale, the seller’s ask seems rather reasonable and perhaps modest. Hagerty pegs a coupe in fair condition at just over $12k, and a convertible in similar shape at nearly $16k.

Rarely This Nice: 1978 Subaru Brat

$

0

This 1978 Subaru Brat has been restored to what sounds like a good standard, the seller claiming it to be a nine out of ten condition-wise. Featuring a fully rebuilt, chassis-original motor with about 1,200 miles use since completion, all restoration receipts are included. Find it here on NASIOC in Los Angeles, California for $12,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Kingshuk M. for this submission.

1978 Subaru Brat

Externally, the truck/car looks nearly all stock apart from the dual exhaust. Gunmetal grey is a more subdued tone than we are accustomed to seeing on this model, but we really dig the look when matched with original-style side decals.

1978 Subaru Brat

The seller states that there are about 1200 miles on the rebuilt flat four.  The interior has been subject to a thorough restoration as well, with all new panels and carpeting.  The dash remains cracked, however, and will need to be replaced–provided you can find a good one.

1978 Subaru Brat

Subaru Brats have always been cool little vehicles, though many long ago suffered terminal rot and premature death. This one is a reversal of that trend, and we imagine there is still plenty of enjoyment to be had.

V8 Swap Candidate: Engineless 1969 Aston Martin DBS

$
0
0

This 1969 Aston Martin DBS is a RHD, automatic transmission-equipped car sold without an engine. Though a bit scruffy and in need of some rust repair, the car doesn’t look too bad in photos and we think it’d be fun to swap in a Ford Coyote 5.0 liter–it already looks a bit like a Mustang anyway. Find it here on eBay in Los Angeles, California with a $54,500 BIN.

Aston Martin DBS Coupe RHD | eBay

The listing features almost 70 photos depicting the car inside, out and underneath. Though exterior body panels including lower quarters and rockers look pretty good, the trunk pan is crusty and lift shots show that moderate rust repair will be needed. Still, we’ve seen far worse corrosion on this model, and its relative completeness is a plus.

Aston Martin DBS Coupe RHD | eBay

Any Detroit V8 swap would work well here, including the ubiquitous LS-series. We like the idea of the Ford V8 as its quad cam architecture is similar to later Tadek Marek-engined V8 cars, but it’d probably be best to sort structural, interior and any other potential issues before getting ahead of oneself in the drivetrain department.

Messed With: 1966 Jaguar E Type Coupe

$
0
0

This 1966 Jaguar E-type runs a carbureted ZZ4 crate 350 and 6-speed manual trans. Said to have been built for reliability, the seller has driven it all across the US with no problems. Cosmetic quibbles aside, we have to admit it sounds like fun. Find it here on Craigslist in Oriental, North Carolina for $45k. Special thanks to BaT reader Jason C. for this submission.

Messed With: 1966 Jaguar E Type Coupe

SuperTrapp mufflers aren’t the most elegant solution, but they’ll get the job done and adjustable noise output is nice to have. With an appropriate rubber and ride height adjustment, rear flares might look a lot better–be prepared to spend some time and money striking the right balance.

Messed With: 1966 Jaguar E Type Coupe

The interior features 70’s Lotus Esprit seats, Autometer gauges and a vast expanse of tan leather in place of the OEM dash’s ventilation, radio and accessory controls. We’d prefer to see it with a more stock look, but seeing as reverting it would likely be quite expensive it’d be best to try and work with what there is.

Messed With: 1966 Jaguar E Type Coupe

Here’s the carb-fed, 355 horse crate small block. Note the A/C compressor. Power is sent to a custom-made rear end, and the seller says that 1,800 RPM works out to 65 MPH on the freeway.

Messed With: 1966 Jaguar E Type Coupe

Daily driven for years, that’s more than can be said for 90% or more remaining E-types. It’s not for purists–even those who are pretty relaxed about this kind of thing will find plenty to nit-pick. Still, it’s a reliable, usable and likely quite fast old car that can be driven hard and often with relatively little stress. Always look on the bright side.

Custom Extended Cab: Restored 1959 Mack B61LT

$
0
0

This 1959 Mack B61LT has been fully restored with a custom cab extension allowing room for two additional passengers. Said to have been completely rebuilt to better-than-new condition, the seller further describes it as “extremely tight and clean” but provides no further information, unfortunately. Find it here on Craigslist in Atlantic City, New Jersey for $48,995. Special thanks to BaT reader Virginia T. for this submission.

MACK B61 EXTENDED CAB

For a custom job, the added cab space aft of the front doors’ trailing edges looks beautifully integrated–if we didn’t know better it’d be easy to mistake for a factory option. Even the added, color-contrasted trim running from B-pillar to B-pillar looks right.

MACK B61 EXTENDED CAB

We’d love to see some interior, bed and engine bay shots, and a bit more of a description wouldn’t hurt either. Fifty grand is a large chunk of money, but we’d be willing to be the seller has a similar if not greater amount tied up into this build.

$400 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT Project

$
0
0

This 1976 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT has been sitting for 16 years and is offered as a largely complete-looking project or parts car. Intact or not, rust is the big unknown here, and being an old, neglected Alfa there’s likely to be plenty hiding just beneath the surface. Find it here on Craigslist in Port Orchard, Washington for $400. Special thanks to BaT reader Conny J. for this submission.

1976 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT Front

Bodywork is rough, particularly around the left rear fender. The interior looks pretty good with complete instrumentation and even a minimally cracked dash. The driver’s door card is missing in photos, however. Note the OEM radio.

1976 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT Interior

Underhood, the SPICA injected twin cam four looks to be all there, however there’s no word on whether it still turns freely.

1976 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT Engine

Even if it’s just a parts car at this point, 400 bucks is hard to argue with for a complete donor.

One-Off Roadster: 1946 Triumph Standard 8 HP

$
0
0

This 1946 Triumph Standard 8 HP wears custom, one-off, coachbuilt bodywork said to have been put together in France for a wealthy Spanish customer. Rally history is mentioned briefly, and though a bit scruffy, it’s said to run and drive well. Find it here on Craigslist in Portland, Oregon for $10,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Thomas B. for this submission.

00L0L_bxrsANiGZL0_600x4501

As the seller points out, the car does bear a strong resemblance to factory-offered Tourer models, but with a more low slung overall look. Paint is rough but bodywork looks decent and trim appears to be complete. Wheels sound like period-built custom items and measure 16″ x 3″.

00Z0Z_6rFsSPLzLnd_600x4501

The windshield frame looks a bit thick and heavy-handed from this angle, but this might be resolved with a custom piece of stainless trim or some contrasting paint. Carpets are long gone, but gauges are complete and the factory distributor-drive tach is said to be very rare.

00Q0Q_dmGZcQ0P9eE_600x4501

The one liter four shown here was factory rated at 28 HP and looks like it’d fit inside an open shoebox. Until recently the car had been sitting in a California garage for 20 years, the seller adding that they recently went through its motor, wiring and brakes.

00000_ajBkeqMOldD_600x4501

Looks like fun to us, and no one at the local British car meet would have any idea of what it was.

Rosso Aurora: 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta

$
0
0

This 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta has been with the seller for 19 years, during which it’s undergone what sounds like a very high quality restoration with work including a De Tomaso factory respray in the car’s original and desirable Rosso Aurora orange. Delivered new to the president of Mexico, this history is traceable back to the car’s original title which is included in the sale. Find it here on eBay in Mexico City, Mexico with no reserve and fast bidding.

DeTomaso Mangusta

Restoration is said to have involved a full strip-down, in which the car was discovered to have minimal rust. Floors have been replaced, but sheet metal is claimed to be all original. These cars were delivered without mirrors, as it was the dealer’s job to install them. Sale includes a set of original, color-matched Vitaloni items as well as Ghia fender badges. The latter were standard on these cars, however a small handful were never fitted with them at the factory due to a parts supply issue–according to the seller, body prep revealed that this car was one of the few badge-less examples.

DeTomaso Mangusta

The interior is said to feature top-quality leather, apparently in the factory-correct style. Door cards and the cabin’s side of the firewall are covered in OEM correct black vinyl, and all gauges are said to be correct Veglia items.

DeTomaso Mangusta

Though the car’s original 289 has been replaced at some point in the past, the 302 now equipped looks correct under an OEM air filter housing and rareley seen aluminum heat shields, Tires are factory optional and hard-to-find Michelin XWX in correct 195/70 front, 225/70 rear sizes, while wheels are original and claimed excellent Magnesium Campagnolos.

DeTomaso Mangusta

Sale includes a full tool set, original keys and service manual. A somewhat random collection of photos and unusual location raise a bit of suspicion, but if a legitimate auction we think this car easily qualifies as one of the nicest Mangustas offered in some time.

Rakish Sedan: 1950 Chevrolet Deluxe

$
0
0

This 1950 Chevy Deluxe (chassis 5HKC22156) is described as having a body which received an older restoration, though the interior remains original. It looks to be perfectly usable as is, and the decision to further refresh the rest of the car will be dependent on the tastes of the next owner. Find it here on Craigslist in Andover, Kansas for $10,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Virginia T. for this submission.

1950 Chevy Deluxe

We think it’s a good example of early 50’s automotive design–understated, well-proportioned, and coupe-like good looks (despite the added functionality of extra rear doors). The body looks to be in good shape overall, though there are a few rust bubbles hiding beneath the aging paint. We like the simple dog dish hubcaps, and while the sun visors somewhat detract from the purity of this car’s body lines, they do suit its character well.

1950 Chevy Deluxe

The interior was not subject to the same restoration work as the exterior and remains factory. Door panels are ripped and grungy, and the almost-certainly worn and torn seats have been covered with what appear to be antique quilts. Nonetheless, we have seen countless cars younger than this one with far less usable cabins. There is just enough patina for the rat rod look if so desired, while a restoration should be likewise manageable.

1950 Chevy Deluxe

Beneath the hood rests this car’s original straight six, which the seller states is in excellent running condition. We’re always pleased to see such humble mills avoid the ubiquitous small block swap. The seller adds that the car has new brakes as well.

1950 Chevy Deluxe

We like that this design is equal parts elegant and egalitarian, and imagine that it has something for nearly anybody into old Detroit Iron.

$3200 & 5600 Miles: 1953 Dodge Firetruck Project

$

0

This 1953 Dodge Firetruck is based on the marque’s then-current B-series. Stored inside for the majority of its life with what must have been considerable fire department attention, the truck looks great inside and out and has just 5,600 miles on the odometer.  Find it here on dodgepowerwagon.com in Hazen, North Dakota for $3,200.

1953 Dodge Firetruck $3,200 [ND]

Though most of the specific fire fighting equipment (like ladders, hoses and equipment) seem to be gone, the siren and lights are still mounted to the front fenders. One can see what may be a Fyr Fyter extinguisher still waiting to answer the call, mounted directly behind the driver’s door. Additionally, two brush tanks are present in the cab. Turned gold leaf lettering is still present on the doors of the cab, along the hood sides and even on the spokes on the front wheels. Having traveled just 5,600 miles, the tires may be original and still holding six decade old air!

1953 Dodge Firetruck $3,200 [ND]

If having a vintage Mopar fire truck wasn’t unique enough, this one is equipped with factory dual carburetors. According to Allpar.com only one flathead produced by the Chrysler corporation came standard with twin carbs–the 413. Further equipped with a split exhaust manifold, power is shuffled through a 5-speed transmission and on to a 2-speed rear end. Unfortunately, the truck ran when parked but now suffers a failed head gasket with coolant in two cylinders and will not turn. With such a low purchase price, even if engine work is required you could still be well on your way to a perfect parade and fun vehicle for relatively small cash.

Rare Small Six: 1937 BMW 321 Project

This 1937 BMW 321 is one of about 3,800 built before production as halted for war the following year. From 1945 to 1950 and additional 9,000 were made. This one wears incorrect 14″ wheels and features a non-original motor, but both correct 16″ items and the factory 2.0 liter straight six are included separately. Find it here on Craigslist in Chula Vista, California for $19,950. Special thanks to BaT reader T.J. for this submission.

1937 BMW 321
